Between the Village and the World: Medicine at the Crossroads of Justice
Dr. Zed Zha is a physician, author, and medical cultural critic whose work centers on justice, autonomy, and restoring humanity in healthcare.
Trained in advanced academic centers and now practicing in rural America, she brings a rare perspective on delivering care across borders, deserts, and divided worlds.
Her forthcoming book, Consented: A Doctor’s Call to End Medical Violence and Reclaim Patient Autonomy, exposes the hidden injustices of medical culture, and she draws on her experiences caring for immigrant and marginalized communities, from global villages to the Navajo Nation, to reimagine a model of medicine rooted in solidarity, dignity, and access.

NPA is different. So our conference is different.
We bring together people who are interested in perinatal care to share, to listen, and to learn from each other.
Unlike some professional meetings, ours is truly interdisciplinary. Because we believe we are at our best when we are working together.

We are healthcare providers, parents & caregivers, birth workers, mental health professionals, educators, advocates, and community members - all driven by our desire to support and advocate for babies and families.
The National Perinatal Association's annual interdisciplinary conference is a unique opportunity to
-
meet with colleagues from across the perinatal continuum of care
-
hear diverse perspectives
-
imagine new models for delivering respectful, empowering, person-centered, trauma-responsive care
JOIN US.
Let's learn together.
